Material
The Kobelco 7120 track shoe is manufactured using 35Mn2SiMo cast steel, a material chosen for its excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance. The production process involves precision casting, followed by comprehensive heat treatment that includes overall quenching and tempering, and finally surface hardening
Inspection
Each track shoe undergoes Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT) during and after production, before dispatch. This non-destructive testing ensures:
Internal integrity – detection of subsurface defects through UT
Surface flaw detection – identification of cracks or imperfections through MT
