Advanced Heat Treatment Process
Quality track shoes undergo a rigorous heat treatment protocol:
Full Quenching & Tempering (Q&T) – The entire casting is austenitized, water-quenched, and tempered to achieve uniform core hardness of 230-320 BHN while eliminating internal stresses that could lead to catastrophic failure.
Surface Hardening – Following Q&T, high-wear surfaces (grouser bars and contact faces) receive localized induction hardening, creating a wear-resistant exterior while maintaining a tough, crack-resistant core
